Experience: Minimum 3 years of UAE experience in mechanical engineering, preferably within the fire fighting / fire protection industry. Civil Defense Approved Engineer is highly preferred.
Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

About the Company
Our client is a newly established fire protection contracting company based in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE, specializing in fire protection and fire fighting systems. They are looking for a qualified Mechanical Engineer to join their technical/project team and support the execution and approval of fire protection projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, review, and supervise the installation of fire protection and fire fighting systems.
  • Prepare and review technical drawings, shop drawings, material submittals, calculations, and project documentation.
  • Coordinate with consultants, contractors, suppliers, and relevant authorities.
  • Handle project submissions and technical coordination with UAE Civil Defense.
  • Ensure fire protection works comply with applicable UAE Civil Defense requirements, NFPA standards, approved drawings, and project specifications.
  • Conduct site inspections and monitor installation progress and quality.
  • Review hydraulic calculations, equipment specifications, and system requirements where applicable.
  • Coordinate testing, commissioning, inspection, and handover of fire protection systems.
  • Identify technical issues on site and provide appropriate engineering solutions.
  • Support the company in obtaining project approvals and completing Civil Defense requirements.
  • Maintain proper project records, reports, and technical documentation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of UAE experience, preferably with a fire protection / fire fighting contracting company.
  • Strong practical knowledge of fire fighting and fire protection systems.
  • Good knowledge of UAE Civil Defense requirements and approval procedures.
  • Civil Defense Approved Engineer is highly preferred.
  • Candidates who are eligible and capable of passing the Civil Defense Engineer examination are encouraged to apply.
  • Ability to obtain/pass the required Civil Defense approval is mandatory for the position.
  • Experience with systems such as fire pumps, sprinkler systems, hydrant systems, hose reels, fire tanks, and related fire protection installations is preferred.
  • Good understanding of relevant NFPA standards and UAE fire and life safety requirements.
  • Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage technical/site requirements.
Preferred Candidate Profile
  • Immediate joiner or short notice period.
  • UAE engineering experience with strong exposure to fire protection projects.
  • Attested educational certificates.
  • MOE equivalency certificate is highly preferred.
  • Previous experience dealing directly with UAE Civil Defense authorities will be a strong advantage.
  • Candidates currently based in Ras Al Khaimah or the Northern Emirates are preferred.
Important Requirement
  • Civil Defense approval eligibility is mandatory. Candidates who cannot obtain/pass the required Civil Defense approval/examination will not be considered.
